My little green ones

I decided to take a few snapshots of my bench full of green babies. It's not gorgeously styled on beautiful furniture but there they are. I am particularly fond of my Mexican Snowball plant or Echevaria elegans that I recently bought with its curious little sunset blossoms. My little family by the windows is definitely a nice sight to see every morning.

A Little Green Goes A Long Way

For the past year or so I've really gone nuts with buying plants. I call them my green family and I really feel like they spruce up any room and spread happiness through it. It seems to me that when you enter a room your eyes notice a plant right away, unless it's just my eyes. I've gotten to the point where I have a bench in front of my window with 8 different types of plants, and that's only on the bench. I've got a jade plant on a shelf and another hopefully working its propagation magic then I have a Begonia and a Monstera Deliciosa plant living near the kitchen. The message is: green is good, new growth is good.

Also... It seems I've been going on quite a trend of posting every two weeks or so, not sure how that really happens. I swear it feels like I post every few days but then I look and it's already weeks later. Sorry. I've been trying to get into nursing school for the past two years and am still sending out another round of applications for a June deadline so my head has been in the clouds while I get things organized. Once this is all over I've been meaning to start illustrating again. I've collected a few little feathers around my yard that have inspired me. There was this one area that looked as if a little one got mauled so I hope there isn't something killing the birds out there.

I am envious of those that have the wonderful String shelves on their walls or even as of late, this Ekby Shelf from Ikea. They seem to be the perfect staging ground for prints, little treasures from travels, glass bottles, plants, and other odds and ends. Above are some that have been dressed up beautifully which makes me want to find a way to get myself either one of these. I do love the String Shelf Modular System the most of all though....oh, yet another item for my wish list.

Future

Here are some images inspiring me for my future house. I don't know where I got these pictures from since it was before my Pinterest days, but they are lovely nonetheless. Whenever I feel down I think about what I aspire to have in the future. Lots of green, blue skies, and water nearby.

Trienna Sofa Project | Time of the Aquarius

Recently Time of the Aquarius remade this 50s Trienna sofa and it looks amazing, definitely right up my alley. It seems like quite a project but definitely worth it and that wool upholstery seems so soft and inviting. I love going to flea markets or scavenging Craigslist for 50s finds and have yet to undertake quite a project such as this one but maybe one day I will now that I see how great this one came out.

I've been feeling pretty uninspired lately but am hoping some of these interiors bring me new perspective.

Featured

I've been featured on I Am The Lab today, what a great surprise! It's the first I've ever been featured anywhere and it's great to know my work is getting out there in some way. I'm ashamed to say but I've never heard of I Am The Lab until they liked my As Light As A Feather Facebook page and looked into them. There are some really great products out there that may not get the reach they deserve and I Am The Lab is a really great platform for artists to be showcased on. I love that they post a new featured artist everyday as well as do giveaways, I think I'm hooked.
